Let's Get Ready's mission is to empower high school
students in underserved communities in the college application
process. This includes intensive SAT preparation, career
exploration questions, a SAT registration workshop,
and picking target schools to apply too. |
The success of LGR in the past has been built on the relationships
between
the college-aged coaches, who have just gone through the
admissions process,
and the high school students who they inspire.
The Site Directors will work on-site to facilitate a free
Let's Get
Ready college access program for high school students during
the Summer of 2010
in the following areas:
Mid-Atlantic Region:
Brooklyn, NY
Bronx, NY
Manhattan, NY
Mount Vernon, NY
New Rochelle, NY
Queens, NY
Stamford/Greenwich, CT
White Plains, NY
Summit, NJ
New England Region:
Boston, MA
Dorchester, MA
Lawrence, MA
New Haven, CT
Worcester, MA
Bridgeport, CT
Revere, MA

The LGR Site Directors are dynamic and motivated undergraduate
students
who direct the LGR program from recruitment of students
and coaches to
implementation and delivery of services. There will be two
directors at
each site and their responsibilities will include:
Responsibilities:
* Develop a strategic plan to recruit coaches and high school
students.
* Manage program operations.
* Facilitate relationships between students and coaches.
* Lead training meetings and group discussions.
* Participate in leadership training opportunities.
* Develop a major college exploration project within the
program.
* Participate in leadership training opportunities.
Site Director Salary Range: $1750-$2250
