PROGRAMS DURING THE SUMMER BEFORE ENTERING LAW SCHOOL
Council on Legal Education Opportunity (CLEO). The
CLEO program is a
six-week pre-law summer program sponsored by the American
Bar
Association Fund for Justice and Education. CLEO is dedicated
to diversifying the
legal profession by offering legal education opportunities
to
under-represented groups.
The six-week program has an emphasis on legal thinking and
analysis and
mimics the vigor of first-year law school. For more information
about
the CLEO program, please visit: http://www.cleoscholars.com
or

Indiana CLEO takes approximately 30 college graduates who
have applied to any of the four law schools in the state
of Indiana and
exposes them to a six-week Summer Institute immediately
before they
begin law school.
Although most CUNY BMI participants want to attend law school
in New York City,
there are four excellent law schools in Indiana including
the Indiana University-Mauer School of Law, Indiana University-Indianapolis,
Valparaiso School of Law and Notre Dame Law School.
Please be advised CUNY BMI pre-law students many law
schools in the Midwest are also looking for geographical
diversity and would
welcome applications from New Yorkers, particularly first
generation
students or students from populations that are severely
underrepresented
in the legal profession.
Successful completion of the Indiana CLEO Summer Institute
qualifies
students for an annual stipend while they are enrolled in
one of the
four law schools in Indiana. For more information, go to

Please note that there is an excellent program video on
the Indiana CLEO
website.
